An African Adventure

My best friend is spending a semester in Africa. Some of you may know her as Nothingtopour, a well loved blogger here on Tumblr, but for the next 3 months she won’t be spending any time tumbling as the internet in Tanzania is not strong enough to support this habit. Good news, though!! Kris IS diligently keeping a blog documenting her studies and experiences abroad. She’s been in Africa only 2 days,  and already her posts nearly bring tears to my eyes. I miss her dearly, but am glad to see that she is having a wonderful time doing what she has been planning for forever, it seems. Now with all that said, if you happen to be a fan of Nothingtopour, or Africa, or just want to share in some awesome times, Kris is a FANTASTIC writer, and won’t let you down. So head over to http://theplanetisround.blogspot.com/ and enjoy!! :D

One for every time you sucked your thumb, waved hello, closed your eyes and slept in the most perfect darkness. One for every time you had the hiccups. One for every dream you dreamed within me. It isn’t very pretty anymore. Some may even think it ugly. That’s OK. It was your home. It’s where I first grew to love you, where I lay my hand as I dreamed about who you were and who you would be. It held you until my arms could, and for that, I will always find something beautiful in it.”

James Boswell, The Life of Samuel Johnson, LL.D.

I definitely can identify some beginnings, and you know who you are:
(1) I gave you my second silver Sharpie. (2) You borrowed a book I was reading in class, came back the next day declaring you loved it and wanted more. (3) When we ran into each other again at the convenience store, you buying a coffee and myself a Snapple; very excited to see each other, we made dinner plans.

I’m #1!!! And I still have that Sharpie… :D

For real this time!

As a female, I reserve the right to not make up my mind until all options have been explored. So even though I posted last night that I had decided on a ring, I found another and have fallen deeply in love with it… For real this time! And here it is:
